Action Scale is a full service scale company specializing in Quality Management. We are ISO 9001:2015 registered, ISO 17025 certified and NCSL Z540-1 compliant. We service, rent, sell, repair & calibrate all makes and models of scales and balances, electronic and mechanical. From milligrams to ten thousand pound floor scales. (We can repair small truck scales.)

Our test standards are maintained quarterly & calibrated on a regular interval. All calibrations are NIST traceable and comply with HB44 and HB 112 requirements and standards are compliant with HB 105-8.

What is NTEP?

The National Type Evaluation Program (NTEP) is an evaluation program administered by the National Conference on Weights and Measures (NCWM). This program is funded through the fees paid by manufacturers and distributors of commercial weighing and measuring devices. Manufacturers, who wish to market their products in the United States, may be required to have their device evaluated by NTEP, in order to comply with certain state and/or local laws and regulations.

State and/or Federal regulations require that scales used for selling, purchasing, exchanging, custody transfer, or establishing the cost for services or hire on the basis of weight have an NTEP Certificate of Conformity.

Calibration

On site calibration of all makes and models (except motor vehicle scales), is performed by our highly trained staff of technicians using standards that are traceable to N.I.S.T. Our Calibration Procedures are documented and adhered to. These rigorous procedures will support your ISO Quality requirements. Written ISO compliant Certificates of Calibration are also available.

Action Scale technicians are continually undergoing an extensive training program to keep abreast of current standards and up to date with the constantly evolving advances in new equipment and technology. Calibration Procedures are documented and followed in order to better support your ISO guidelines and Quality requirements. Years of experience help to facilitate your calibration needs to keep your equipment working in an accurate and dependable way.

Capabilities

PERIODIC INSPECTION
Periodic Inspections consist of on site evaluation and Calibration Service. Written reports listing the condition of the equipment, suggested repairs, and or modifications to the operation or environment of the equipment. An automatic recall system is used to prevent lapses in calibration. All inspection and calibration services are recorded by a unique Calibration Tracking Job# (CTJ#) that appears on all reports, calibration stickers and invoices. This data is preserved for a minimum of seven years.

CALIBRATION SERVICE
We follow a documented Calibration Procedure Manual that supports your ISO requirements. Calibration services can be single point or multiple points as prescribed in your Quality guidelines. We will test and calibrate your weighing equipment regardless of manufacturer or model, excluding motor vehicle scales.

CERTIFICATES OF CALIBRATION
In addition to calibration stickers that are affixed to your equipment we offer ISO compliant computer generated Certificate of Calibration (CERTS) in various styles. Individual and Blanket Certs are the most common. Custom or specialized Certs are available. Certs may contain many fields including make, model, serial number, asset ID number, test results, both before and after, error or amount of correction, standards applied and their appropriate certification (NIST traceable) number.

Repair / Field Service

Action Scale Company offers on site and in house repair service for all makes and models of scales (except motor vehicle scales), from precision balances to industrial scales. We focus our attention on fast, efficient, professional care of your weighing equipment.

At Action Scale Company we pride ourselves on fast, courteous professional service. Our technicians are up to date on modern electronic scales as well as traditional mechanical models. our capabilities range from the smallest most precise analytical balance to the large industrial sized tanks and hoppers, and all types and capacities in between (except motor vehicle scales).

ON SITE REPAIR
On site repair consists of equipment evaluation, fault isolation and diagnostics. A verbal report of the problem is given and many repairs are completed at this level if authorized to do so. Next a written estimate to repair is given and we wait for authorization before completing any work. Parts are then procured if not in stock and we return to complete the repair..

IN HOUSE (SHOP) REPAIR
For products picked up, shipped in or dropped off at our facility we perform the basic steps listed above. When authorized, repairs are completed and equipment is returned. Shop repair is also utilized when equipment requires a clean or temperature stable environment, isolation of intermittent problems and component level repairs not suited to field work.

PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
Preventative maintenance includes services such as cleaning scale pits or installation of optional protective equipment. Examples are static prevention kits, cable guards and conduit, scale bumpers, ramps or anchor kits, anti-theft devices and indicator mounting assemblies. Replacing in service covers, membrane keypads or anything that will alleviate expensive repairs in the future.

Scale Rentals

We offer a variety of rental scales for short term (i.e…inventory) to long term (i.e… special projects) for most applications. Rental scales are also used in the event of a lengthy repair, and are also useful to evaluate or test various products (scales) for integration into a new application or environment before purchase.

Action Scale Company offers rentals and leases for inventory and seasonal requirements. Scales for counting and weighing, in a variety of sizes and capacities.
